Moving In

after long and arduous process of wrestling with the bureaucracy in this country (they are all prats), finally managed to be assigned a room in Langton Close, which is right next to my old room in Frances Gardner House. my uncle, his friends, and wayne all helped me to move my things in last night - it is amazing how much crap i have managed to accumulate in my short time here! 2 bags were food and pots/pans, 2 bags were books/papers, and i only really had 1 suitcase of my personal belongings. i dunno how i am going to bring all these books and papers back to singapore in june man....

anyhow, spent the first night here in the new room quite uneventfully. shared bathroom/toilet was ok - fairly clean and tidy. as for flatmates, have not really had the chance to meet them yet, though saw 2 of them (girls) smoking in the kitchen last night. the guy next to me was also banging around in his room till pretty late and there was some ruckus in the corridor. they sound like fun people and they seem to get along but i dunno how they will take to me or i to them. well let's hope they are nice and friendly and clean people....:)

i kinda miss my old flat and my old flatmates. the combination of people there was really exceptional. i mean what are the odds of having 2 japanese girls in a flat of 5 people? one of whom is a whacko bimbo and the other is more sane. it was very nice and quiet there and people were generally very considerate and tidy. apparently some PRC girl has taken over my room there and is causing problems for my old flatmates because she is hogging the kitchen with all her PRC friends all the time. wish i could take back my old room...and not have to adjust to new place!

once i unpack properly and set up the room, i will post pictures...right now it is rather tatty looking.
after all it is just nice to finally have a place to ground myself. :)
